Fair Tulip Open Bottom Girdle
Style: 51-15
Size: Large
Our Price: $50.00
We get a lot of phone calls from long time
Vanity Fair customers looking for their Tulip girdles, either
the long leg, or as is the case here, the open bottom. They
were well-made, firm, and lightweight. This one is a relatively
rare bluish green one, unlike most that were either black,
white or beige. This color was popular in the late 60's, which
is probably when this one was made. It was little if ever
worn (there is absolutely no fraying on the garter covers
- usually you'll see a speck even after one wash). At first
I thought this was a blue girdle that yellowed over time,
resulting in a greenish color, but if that were the case,
it wouldn't have yellowed so evenly, and the acetate covers
most likely would have remained the original color -not the
case here, the color is consistent. The straps look like a
different color in the picture because they reflected the
flash differently. Six painted metal garters, all with covers
(they would benefit from a quick steaming to get the wrinkles
out); pull on style; tulip-style front and rear. This provides
firm control for someone with a natural 30" waistline.
It would also work fine with a 28-29" waistline.
